Would you like to talk to someone about about membership? Please send us your phone number using our contact form.
Alternatively you can fill in an application form and post it in to us.
Children Worldwide asks for a monthly contribution towards membership.
Some members ask their church to pay this for them as a way of supporting the work they do. Some Churches offer to pay because they can see the benefit of membership to both the church and the member! Some itinerant workers ask specific supporters to pay it for them. Some members opt to pay it themselves.
This contribution goes towards various things:
It pays for your place at our annual conference.
It helps us to pay our one employee - our part time office manager (based at Dalesdown), without whom Children Worldwide would not be able to do half of what it does!
Everyone’s contribution is also tithed into a separate fund used largely to help our teams in Latvia and Kenya.
No - one in Children Worldwide, other than the office manager, is paid. All of those on our management group give their time and travel freely (in very large amounts) to make sure our members are supported and resourced.
The suggested contribution is currently:
£21 per month for single membership, and £25 per month for a couple.
£6 per month (or £10 for a couple) goes towards the cost of the annual conference.
The remaining £15 covers everything else.
We work under good practice and safeguarding advice given to us by the NSPCC, and have had our policies and working practice inspected by them (by invitation).
Because of this the application form for membership appears to be very long!
All the information in the form helps us know about you, it helps us find an accountability structure that works for you in your particular circumstances, and also helps us to know where you may need extra support.
Because we won’t be in constant contact with you as you go about your children’s work, as an employer or team leader would be, (especially if you are an itinerant worker) we also have to comply with current safeguarding advice on recruiting - at the highest level!
It also means we can recommend you at the highest level too!
We will be trusting you to maintain and develop the good name of Children Worldwide!!
We expect all our members to be able to sign up to the Evangelical Alliance statement of faith.
