CHILDREN'S WORKERS ARE VALUED

CHILDREN WORLDWIDE

BEHIND THE SCENES

The Family Foundations Trust charity (FFT) currently has two aspects to its children's work:

  1. Dalesdown (between Horsham & Worthing) is a Christian Conference Centre specifically for children
  2. Children Worldwide is the ‘ministry' part of FFT, with evangelism amongst children being our priority. Being an integral part of the larger charity gives us the security and support we need.

CHILDREN WORLDWIDE IS FOR ALL CHILDREN'S WORKERS

We are a membership organisation, and all members are "responsible for their own finances" and retain their independence. Whether you work with children full-time, part-time or spare-time there are many reasons for joining us. Between us we are from a wide variety of denominations and are involved in just about every aspect of children's work: - puppetry teams, Sunday schools, holiday clubs, camps, assemblies, all-age worship, training seminars etc. Children Worldwide exists to support and encourage excellence in children's work in all its forms.

WHAT DOES CHILDREN WORLDWIDE OFFER?

  • The chance to be part of a NETWORK of over 60 like-minded children's workers, with opportunities for mutual support, encouragement, prayer, exchange of ideas & resources etc
  • Children Worldwide is an established QUALITY MARK, and has built a reputation for being Biblical, contemporary, safe, fun and sympathetic to the ethos of those we work with
  • FREEDOM to work within your own giftings and ministry, but with the backing of our organisation
  • OPPORTUNITES to work by invitation alongside other CW members at our events at home and abroad, or even at large national events. General enquiries into our CW Office are put out to the whole team for any member to offer help if they wish.
  • PRACTICAL stuff - we will arrange a CRB check for you if you don't already have one
    • You will be covered by our Public Liability INSURANCE when undertaking CW work within our agreed procedures
    • We provide PUBLICITY FOLDERS in which you can insert your own details
    • Our WEBSITE can be linked to yours, and can show details of your work and availability
    • We can offer at a very special rate CLEARANCE OF EARMARKED GIFTS to you that need to be paid via a charitable trust
    • ADVICE on urgent issues (child protection etc) is always available from experienced members
    • We encourage CW members to work for each other AT COST if possible and appropriate

STRUCTURE

To serve our members nationally, we have 3 Regions each with a volunteer Regional Manager to keep in touch and organise local get-togethers. The full CW Management Group meets together three times a year to assess progress and direction.

WHAT DOES CW EXPECT FROM MEMBERS?

  • That you agree to our Doctrinal Statement (Evangelical Alliance) and work within our procedures
  • That you have an accountability structure i.e. a group of people to look out for your best interests and those of the children you work with, and who will advise, direct and pray with you on a regular basis. If you don't have this already we will help you set up a Council of Reference
  • That you attend our Annual Team Conference at Dalesdown to meet other members, catch up and have your say
  • That you contribute an agreed monthly gift to help pay for the CW office and its part-time Office Manager (based at Dalesdown), and to cover the cost of your place at the Annual Conference.

There is no obligation to do any more than this, and we recognise that everybody is busy and has their own commitments. However as a membership organisation, things are much healthier when the members have an input. We value all suggestions, ideas and developments from the whole team to help shape the CW of the future for the next generation. If you would like to be valued as a children's worker, why not join us and together we will make a difference.
